I've always wondered why people used to say A/W (autumn/winter) was their favourite season, I mean in England that means cold, rain and sometimes snow until now. I've really been enjoying this past month because, I've been able to wear all my lovely A/W clothes that have sitting in my wardrobe growing dust (not literally but you get the point). I'm really enjoying the whole oversized knit jumpers and cardigans especially because I feel so comfortable and warm! I love the feeling of comfort!

So here's a couple of things I'm planning on buying in order to get my style back into comfort and warmth for this season.

Trends and Styling: The Military Jacket

So recently in the world of fashion, fashions finest no1 trend setters, bloggers and youtube guru's have been drooling over the newest A/W trend 'Military'. But which seems to be the most adored item within the trend is the military jacket. Now for others, this has been a cool thing to have such a cool trend but for me, its not -.-. don't get me wrong though, its not that I don't love it, I do.
However, back in December, I was drooling over this cool heavy military jacket in Punky Fish just before Christmas and boxing day sales (YAYY!) and I was instantly star struck after about 5 seconds of staring. I instantly wanted to get it before anyone else did, but seeing as I am a person who doesn't regularly shop, I just pick little things as I go along so I left it and didn't buy it. 2months later, I spotted it again, and I was ready to buy it by the end of that week, but me being me, I ended up spending it on food (I may not look like it but, I LOVE FOOD XD), so time went buy and I didn't end up getting it. Now, its like a massive trend, and yeah I do love trends but sometimes I just like to be unique, that's why I love vintage, but now it will be even harder finding a unique one that will stand out. Anyway , I shall elaborate on that a bit more on a post I'm planning to about whether trends are always a good thing (that's not the title, don't worry).
Moving on the purpose of the post...
I thought I would do a post on how to style this jacket as it is diverse and versatile but it can also be difficult to tell whether something looks good with it or not, so here's my attempt to give you some inspiration in how to style it.

If you did read my recent post on 'My Leibster blog award nomination'  then you may have noticed that I mentioned that fact that I want to become a fashion stylist in the future (or now, if possible, lol), so I thought I would practice more and get the hang of styling and putting together outfits. So, you will definitely be seeing more styling posts

A cros breed between high tops and wedges

Have you wondered what it would be like to wear trainers that can look just as classy as heels? Well, no need to wonder because, recently I have spotted these shoes all over the shops, but finding the right pair can be very difficult. I first spotted these  in the June issue of Instyle Magazine when I was flicking through the pages to see what the latests trends were. Although I must be honest, I did think they were super ugly oriniginally, but when I saw it on other people such as Cheryl Cole, I thought it looked really good. Maybe its the way she styled the outfit with the shoes that made it look nice, but whatever it was, it looked damn good. My favourite pair was this multicoloured Marc Jacobs one that I thought was really unique and interesting, but most high street stores that are ahead of the game and already have them in store (e.g. H&M, Forever 21) seem to mainly have them  in beige and black for some reason. I'm sure there will be more of them popping up in the popular highstreet stores, so if you're thinking "well I want a more exciting colour than beige and black" I'm sure there are other colours around, they are just waiting to be discovered.
If you are still very puzzled as to what I'm ranting on about, then take a look at some images below.

I don't know if any of you have noticed but, there seems to be a new popular hair style roaming around around the streets of all the major cities in the world and S/S catwalks. That's right, the dip dye and ombre hair style revolution has begun. Its been seen on many celebrities such as Ciara, Lauren Conrad and Demi Lavato and also on many bloggers lately. This is probably because, it gives people a fresh look even when they might be having a bad hair day. Check it out

Nail Varnish: Pastels

I don't know if any of you have realised this but lately the massive hit trend of pastels has not only been seen on the rails of shops but, it has also been appearing on the mists of fingernails - nail pastels. I noticed on many blogs and in what is now my favourite makeup and beauty store called KIKO which is based in Stratford Westfield. Here are a few colours and example that you can use to adapt to your summer style,

2012 Summer Essentials and Trends

Recently, I went to the shopping centre with a couple of friends, and we had a little look inside some of the shops. The one thing I noticed that was consistently appearing on the racks were amazing new shapes of the peplum dresses and tops, electric blue chiffon dresses, and long maxi dresses. I decided to put together a few images of this seasons essentials and must haves. I will also be showing you ways in which you can style these pieces and create many fabulous looks.

The first look was my interpretation of how to style a really classy Peplum dress from (New Look) which I recently saw on the online store. I paired it with these classic pair of black heels that can transform any look form geek-to-chic! Since I went with the more simple, classic night look, I paired it with simple jewellery as I think the neckline needs to avoid big statement jewellery, but don't be afraid to experiment with pieces.

I decided to go with a paired down down daytime look with this amazing shade of blur chiffon dress with a frizzy cut in the front. Wedges are always a nice way to pair this dress with, without looking tacky. But, you do have to be careful with what colour you choose (I'm even not too sure about this colour), but remember, fashion is about experimenting and adjusting key trends to suit your personal style.
Look 1: Dress, Shoes, Bag; all New Look,
Ring, Bracelet and Earrings;all Topshop
Look 2: Dress, Wedges, and Bag; all New Look
Necklace, Bracelet, Bangle, and Earrings; all Topshop

I hope this was useful.
