The Colour Scheme - A/W 15

I've always wondered if there is a fixed colour scheme that one must adopt during a particular season. For instance, summer usually reveals a pastel blue, green, pink and yellow colour scheme in the streets. You might also find that there are various prints and bright colours that are found on every item possible.

Winter for me usually entails a lot of black, white and grey. Monotone colours is simplistic and can be styled in various ways. This season was no different for me except front he fact that I'm now more of a stylish comfort dresser. This usually involves a fitted pair of jogging bottoms, polo neck top and a pair of trainers. Although, this is usually only for my 9am lectures. Being warm and comfy is incredibly essential for this season as the winter nights can be quite brutal. Nevertheless, it is nice to add a stylish piece of clothing to create the final look. For me, its usually a jacket.
Here are some of the examples that I'm loving for this season in line with my preferred colour scheme.

My lack of absent is quite sad. I kind of got out of the blogging mood once I realised my camera had broken. I could have gotten it repaired but I decided it was time to actually invest in a better camera. Saving up was not easy and at times I just said 'I cba' any more. But, I finally gave in a couple of days ago. I decided to head down to LFW just to take a couple of street style snaps and video some content for my media project. It was an unforgettable day that I will never forget. If you're wondering why that is exactly, all will be revealed in an update post coming very soon.

These are a few snapshots of the day which I hope you will find intriguing.
Enjoy.

LFW Street Style Part 1

Over the years the phenomenon of fashion week for most people has shifted to be about what kind of outfits are people putting together for the week. This year I went simply for the people. I could see a lot of trendy individuals all around Somerset House posing for the press as well as being able to see some of the people that I usually see on my computer. The best part of it all was probably being able to talk to Shope Delano from London's Closet. She is such a sweet girl and I loved taking selfie's with her, seeking advice about University, and interviewing her for my media project which I will start working on soon. I hope September id being good to you all and you're all enjoying the surprisingly good weather.

Enjoy..

P.S, I'm thinking about doing a couple of photo-shoots for my portfolio because all my University options require a portfolio viewing for acceptance. So if any photographers, hairstylists, make-up artists and model want to do a test shoot for your portfolio, provided you live in London, Essex, or near Buckinghamshire (or if you would be willing to travel to one of those locations), send me an email to: yvetteisboateng3@gmail.com

Disclaimer: all photo's were taken by myself and my friend. Any images used must be referenced to 'The Upgradeables' blog. If you have not been referenced for any reason, please feel free to let me know.

It seems like quite a while since I've done a CSI (celebrity style inspiration post on here but today I thought, why don't I just blog today?

Now let me just start by saying Khloe Kardashian-Odum is so beautiful. Her style is so effortless yet simple and I'm really loving her hair right now as well. Although Kim is usually everyone's favourite, I'm starting to think Khloe is my favourite although I still really love Kim's style as well.
Anyway of my fan girling over Khloe, take a look at it your self...

Well, am now apart of radio show and I'm a 'Fashion 911' radio host for that particular segment on a Ghanaian radio show called AmansanFM

I recently just started it so I'm still not quite perfect but I'm trying my best to improve my skills every week. Although, it's a Ghanaian radio show, I speak English on it but I will soon be mixing in a little bit of Twi (native Ghanaian language). Don't worry though, I will always translate what I will be saying.

I will be talking about the latest fashion trends in the industry for both men and women, styling tips for different seasons, issues and concerns about the fashion industry, and any affects of the fashion industry on human nature.

Just visit the website Amansan and press the play button in top right hand corner or i you have the TuneIn app you can just types 'AmansanFM' in the search tool. I hope you can all tune in and listen to me at around 12:30. The show starts at 11 and finishes at 1 so make sure you tune in for some interesting gossip, entertainment, music and fashion.

Style revolutions: My style journey

As many of you previously saw in my last post, I traveled to Ghana for the summer and I must say that in did change a lot of things about me. Being there reminded of the fact that I don't need to dress for anyone but myself and ultimately my happiness. This has made me really want to show off my style based on who I am and a lot of inspiration from the world around me and by doing that I will need to stop hiding in my room and reminiscing over the clothes I know is really hard to get and start to focus on the more realistic things in life. Fashion is not only about trends, its also about your identity and how you are able to reflect your emotion, personality and feeling through you sense of style

I will be showcasing more OOTD and my monthly favorite from high street stores and outlets. Hopefully i can stick to my word and actually have the courage to showcase it. I will try my best though because i am now in in sixth form so I am trying to create a schedule around my work and blogging because, to be honest blogging, writing, reading and creating/styling looks is my stress reliever so it is nice to just sit on my laptop, reply to emails and messages whiles stumbling across inspirational style images on Tumblr.

Be happy in your own skin, smile about your style and as Shameless Maya says, DO YOU BOO!

Celebrity Style Inspiration: Iggy Azalea + Update

Hi everyone, for me to say that it has been a long time since I have blogged is simply an understatement. Although it has been long, I do have my reasons, one of them being being my GCSE exams took over my life. I was constantly revising for about 4-5 months straight but I still ended up doing a LOT of last minutes crammed revision which I really don't understand...

To be honest, I kind of lost my blogging mojo and my interest in the fashion industry all together which is weird because most people that know me are aware that I do want to have a career in the industry soon. Well, I have finished my exams now and I'm just lounging about for the next  couple of weeks until I go on holiday to... GHANA!! I'm so excited and even though it was a really last minute trip, I'm so excited to just be chilling in the sun with some of my cousins and just...enjoying myself before I start sixth form in September!

Now that you are all aware of my absence, lets get onto the purpose of this post...

Iggy Azalea...My girl! I love her, and her rebellious yet sensual style. Her hit single 'Work' hit Youtube a while ago now and I'm seriously in love with that song. She is a fresh and rebellious R&B rapper who is here to challenge all the other female rappers and I'm sure we will be seeing her style being portrayed and acknowledged more often.
